Schools/Child Care:

Child Development Center (CDC): The CDC is for children 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten. It is more than a daycare, the program utilizes current, academically endorsed methods that ensure children enjoy learning skills required for success in school and life. Part day and hourly care are offered on a space available basis. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are included. Fees are based on total family income. The CDC is fully accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. 717-770-7360

School Age Services (SAS): SAS is for children kindergarten through 5th grade. Before and after school care, in-service, summer, holiday camps, and after school recreation are available. Participants enjoy the use of our computer lab, competitions, arts and crafts, field trips, game room and more! Meals and snacks are included. SAS is accredited by the Council on Accreditation. 717-770-6768

Youth Services (YS): YS offers recreational programs for youth between 6th – 12th grade (18 years). Programs and activities include skill building clinics, parties, arts and crafts, field trips and community events. YS offers a multi-station computer lab with Internet access, various gaming systems and recreation tables. There is a service fee for some activities. Youth Service also offers a Summer Teen Camp for youth 13 – 15 years. 717-770-6768

Schools: There are no Department of Defense (DoD) Schools located in Pennsylvania. Children on the installation attend the West Shore School District. For more information, you can visit their website

Communities: Sixteen municipalities west of the Susquehanna River blend together into a unified community known as the West Shore Area with a population of more than 160,000 people. This region, a transportation hub of the East coast, has over 26 different religious denominations, eight school districts, arts and recreation, more than ten radio stations, daily and weekly newspapers, five television stations affiliated with all the major networks, and cable television providing news and entertainment to the community. While sharing this geographic location, each municipality has unique characteristics. 

Entertainment/Local Attractions: There are many things to do from sports, local galleries, theaters, zoos to amusement parks and outdoor adventures.  If you are in the New Cumberland area, you are sure never to be bored again! ITR is a great place to receive discounted tickets!
